TIGBAUAN, Iloilo – Mr. Sid Tendencia, a staff photographer from SEAFDEC AQD, documented the release of an accidentally captured whale shark along the coast of Parara Sur, Tigbauan, Iloilo. The whale shark measures 18 ft long and 6 ft in diameter. Bantay Dagat staff from the municipality of Tigbauan recorded the landing and decided to release the whale shark within 30 minutes after they have gathered information about the animal. It was noted that Mr. Arial Galas, a fisherman, brought the whale shark to shore which was caught inside a nearby fishtrap (punot). (click here to see the photos)
